Spanish Dagger Hunting Resort
The
Spanish Dagger is a premier upland hunting destination
managed by Alan Phillips. It is dedicated to the outdoor
enthusiast.
Located half-way between romantic San
Antonio and the Mexican border at the gateway to the Texas
Hill Country, the ranch has more than 2,000 acres of trails,
fields, and woodlands.
Since January 2005 the Spanish Dagger
has been owned by John Pettit. He has been a professional
guide and outfitter for nearly 20 years hunting for Cape
Buffalo in Tanzania, Africa, sport fishing the waters
of Costa Rica, and hunting white tail deer in the prestigious
"Golden Triangle" of South Texas.
Mr. Pettit, a native Texan, has brought
his love for hunting back to the area where he first experienced
the great outdoors and the camaraderie of hunting with
friends and family and he now makes his home in Uvalde,
Texas, the center of the south Texas hunting world. Upon
moving back to the Uvalde area Mr. Pettit Acquired the
Scott Farm, a 440 acre farm located in northwest Zavala
County, Texas and combined that with his knowledge of
South Texas and his vast hunting expertise to create JP
Outdoors. JP Outdoors provides Hunters with first rate
accommodations and exceptional hunting experiences.
JP Outdoors and the Scott Farm, are located
at the apex of the Central, South, and Special White Wing
Dove hunting Zones. JP Outdoors provides day hunting to
groups and individuals as well as "all inclusive"
dove hunting adventures, for individual and corporate
clientele, packages can include lodging, guided hunts,
catered meals and bird cleaning services.

Waterfowl Outfitters Unlimited
Waterfowl
Outfitters Unlimited is located in Eagle Lake, Texas,
known as the "Goose Hunting Capital of the World."
The goose hunting in the area has been known for many
years as some of the best in the world. A large part of
this is due to the thousands of acres of crop land, mainly
consisting of rice, which act as wetlands and prime feeding
ground for waterfowl.
Every year several hundred acres of land
are flooded to serve as holding ponds or rest ponds. These
ponds are not hunted allowing hundreds of thousands of
geese to roost every night.
